Heavy, slow, reliable - and fun. It's well engineered and well put together, doesn't leak oil, easy to maintain handles well and has excellent brakes. The engine has a lot of character because it's basically a short stroke motor that doesn't pull quite as well as say an old Ariel 500, but it's much smoother and will rev even though it has a massive flywheel hanging off the left hand side of the engine. Swapping the original Del Orto 29mm for a 33mm Mikuni flatslide pumper improves the performance considerably, as does a twin-plug conversion. Lighten the flywheel and raise the compression ratio for more power and you may as well buy something else - the original character will be lost. A great machine for leisurely and relaxed touring and just blimping around the country.
